6 killed in gruesome accident near Badarpur flyover

Six persons including four members of a family died on the spot in a road accident when their Wagon R car collided with a dumper near the Badarpur flyover on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Police suspect that the accident took place due to dense fog. Meanwhile, police have arrested the driver of the dumper, identified as Laxman Shah. According to the police, the accident took place at around 12.15 am near the Badarpur flyover when the six men were going towards Faridabad and their car rammed into an over-speeding dumper killing them instantly. 

The six deceased have been identified as Raju, Rajkumar, Ramsheesh, Madan, Avdesh and Hari Shankar.

Police sources said that the Wagon R car was trying to take a U-turn. In the meantime, an over-speeding dumper coming from behind the Wagon R car could not apply brakes and smashed into the car.

According to the police, the Wagon R car was completely disfigured due to the impact leaving no chance of survival of any of the persons travelling in the car. Locals made a PCR call at around 12.22 am and the police rushed four of them to the Apollo Hospital while two of them were taken to AIIMS trauma centre. All the six were declared dead on arrival.

According to a senior police official, all of them were residents of Kalkaji and were going to meet a relative in Faridabad. Vikas, Hari Shankar’s relative who came to claim the bodies informed the police that Hari Shankar was a Metro engineer.

The official further said that Rajkumar, Ramsheesh and Madan were Raju’s nephews and they came from Bihar while Avdesh and Hari Shankar were Raju’s friends.

A case has been registered at the Badarpur police station under Section 304 A (Causing death by negligence) and 279(Rash driving or riding on a public way) against the dumper driver.
