A 53-year-old woman allegedly killed herself by jumping off the seventh floor of a residential complex in Gurgaon on Wednesday morning.
Preliminary investigation revealed that she had initially cut the nerves on her wrist and when it did not work, she chose to jump off from the seventh floor. However, no suicide note was recovered, said police.
The deceased has been identified as Saadhna Sangwan, who was a teacher at a private school in Gurgaon, Sector 10. She lived with her husband at Sukriti Apartment in Sector 56 but she was alone at home at the time of the incident. “Sangwan’s husband, who is a section officer at the Ministry of Railways, informed the police that she was depressed because of some illness for quite some time,” said a senior police official.
The couple’s only son is settled in Canada with his family. He was also informed about the incident. “Saadhna was rushed to a hospital where she was declared brought dead. Her body was handed over to the family after postmortem examination,” said police. Her husband’s statement has been recorded and investigation of the case is underway, the official added.
