40-yr-old killed in car-truck collision

A 40-year-old man was killed while four others were critically injured after their WagonR car rammed into a truck in South Delhi’s Rajokri area during the wee hours of Monday. The condition of the injured is out of danger now.

According to police, the incident took place at around 4.30 am when all the five occupants of WagonR car were returning to Delhi. All of them hail from Sikar in Rajasthan. When they reached Rajokri, the driver could not see a truck infront of their car. The speeding car collided with a truck. “The driver failed to steer clear of a truck ahead and rammed into its rear side. The impact was such that one Ramesh who was seated on the seat next to the driver’s died on the spot,” police said.

Some passerby informed the police about the accident and the victims were rushed to hospital. Ramesh was declared brought dead while the other four injured were admitted and are out of danger. The truck driver escaped any serious injuries in the accident.

A case of rash driving and causing death by negligence has been registered at Vasant Kunj (South) police station.
