In yet another horrifying incident, a four-year-old girl was raped inside a school in Pooth Kalan village in Begumpura area of outer Delhi. The accused is yet to be arrested.
According to the victim, a juvenile who works at the school campus had allegedly raped her few days ago at an isolated place in school campus. However, during investigation, when the police interrogated the alleged accused, he produced an evidence that he was not in the school premises when the victim was assaulted.
After recording her statement, she was sent for medical examination which confirmed that she was sexually assaulted. Meanwhile, the juvenile accused has been apprehended and is being questioned. The victim studies in a government school in Pooth Kalan Village in outer Delhi.
The incident took place on 26 August and after returning home, she complained of stomach pain to her mother. ‘Her mother gave some medicine to her and adivced her to take rest,’ a police officer said.
The girl started crying few hours later and then her mother took her to a nearby hospital. During examination, the doctor noticed injuries on her private parts which made them suspicious that she was sexually assaulted. When the victim was repeatedly quizzed by her mother she narrated the ordeal to her. Upon hearing the matter, her parents immediately filed a complaint against the 16-year-old boy, who works at the school.
Surprisingly, the boy has claimed that he was not in Delhi at the time of the incident.
‘The boy claims that he was in Jammu on a trip to Vaishno Devi temple when the incident took place. To strengthen his claims, he even produced his train tickets,’ a police official said.
The police officials feel that the victim is traumatised and must be confused about the identity of the accused.
‘There is a possibility that the traumatised girl has forgotten about the identity of the accused. We are investigating the case from all possible angles and the probe is on to establish the identity of the accused,’ he added.
Meanwhile, a case of rape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered.
