Delhi Police have arrested four men for the robbery cum murder of a man in Anand Vihar area of East Delhi. The four accused have been identified as Naveen Raghav, Vivek, Arjun and Shiv Kumar. Police have recovered the mobile phone, documents, data cable stolen from the deceased and a knife which was used to commit the crime.
According to the police, on December 24, an unidentified body was found lying at the Birla land near the Metro pillar with injury marks. Upon investigation, the victim was identified as Harish.
A team of special staff was asked to assist the local police to investigate the matter. By analysing the CDR of Harish’s phone, they were able to locate the name and the address of the SIM card holder.
Based on this information, a raid was conducted in Sahibabad in Uttar Pradesh where a person named Arun Raghav was found using Harish’s phone. On being questioned, he disclosed that he bought the phone from his cousin Naveen’s mobile shop.
“After questioning Naveen, another person identified as Vivek was arrested on his instance. Vivek confessed that he along with his accomplices Shiv Kumar robbed and killed Harish using a knife. They also confessed to committing another robbery in the same area,” said a senior police official.
A case has been registered at the Anand Vihar police station against the culprits under relevant sections of the IPC.
