30 fail to appear in AIPMT, allege lack of clarity at centre

As many as 30 students, appearing for the All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT), failed to take the exam on Sunday.

The students have alleged that they were not guided properly at the examination centre – Bal Bharti Public School in Pitampura. The school has six entry gates and the security guards stationed there did not tell them the way to take.

As a result, they entered the campus late and were not allowed to take the examination.

“There was no notice, guiding students about the way to reach the examination hall.  I was running from gate No. 1 of the Bal Bharti Public School to gate No. 6, looking for the examination hall. As a result, I got late. When I finally managed to reach the examination hall, after much anguish and pain, the invigilator did not allow me to take the test, saying — no entry would be given after 9.30 am,” said Harsimran Kaur, a candidate.

“I missed my examination due to the lack of information provided by the school authorities. I am going to lodge a complain against them with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and if my demand is not met, I will not hesitate in exploring legal options too,” said Gurmeet Kaur, another student.

The AIPMT 2016, being treated as the first phase of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), was held  across the country on Sunday.

The entrance test conducted for MBBS and BDS courses across the country was held amidst tight security this year.

Students had to follow a proper dress code.

They were not allowed to enter the examination hall in shoes or carry any kind of stationary with them.
