The kingpin of the group was in love with the woman who ditched him due to financial issues and later got close with the doctor. To get her back, the kingpin planned the murder.
The murder took place on May 13 when the doctor, identified as Balwan Singh Ramawat was shot dead at his clinic in Palam area. During investigation it was found that Ramawat had close relations with a lady Priya (real name withheld), aged about 42 years.
“The CDR analysis of the mobiles of deceased and Priya revealed that Hariom Sharma, the prime accused, also had close relations with Priya. When Sharma was interrogated he revealed that he had close relations with Priya since 2007.
His first and second wives left him due to his intimacy with Priya. The relations between Sharma and Priya got sour due to some financial issues and Priya registered a case of molestation against him while he filed a suit against Priya in a cheque bounce case. Meanwhile, Priya developed intimacy with Ramawat,” said Surender Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-west).
Sharma, who is a property dealer got jealous due to this and decided to eliminate Ramawat. “He sought help from his old friend Vikrant, also a property dealer. He demanded Rs 2 Lakh to kill Ramawat. Sharma paid Rs 87,000 as advance. Vikrant further hired Angad, a water tanker driver in Delhi Jal Board and Sonu, a tea vendor” the Commissioner added. Later, all the accused were arrested.
