The victim was identified Gaurav Chauhan (28) from Acharyapuri in Gurgaon. He owned a business of supplying electricity via generators. According to police, a shop-owner from Sadar Bazar called up the police control room around 9 am on Saturday and reported the incident. When police reached the spot, they found a white Maruti Swift car parked near a bakery.
Gaurav’s body was lying on the back seat of the car. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. Soon his body was sent for post-mortem examination.
“Gaurav sustained two bullet injuries on his head. However, they fired more than two bullets because a few bullet shells were also recovered from outside the car,” said a police official.
Later, Gaurav’s brother Raman Chauhan gave his statement to the police, in which he stated about Gaurav’s business and his associates in details.
It also emerged that on Saturday morning, Gaurav came to Sadar Bazar when he received an information that someone had disconnected his power supply wires.
The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed at a shop near the spot where the incident took place and the assailants were identified by Saturday evening.
According to a source, the top suspect in this case is a person named Sachin. He is in the same business as Gaurav and frequently had fights with him in the past.He is missing since the incident took place. The incident created a state of panic among traders in the area and they pulled the shutters early on Saturday evening.
A case has been registered under section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code. We are looking for the assailants, however, it is too early to conclude anything at this point. But from local inputs, it seems like a case of business rivalry,” the police official added.
