27-year-old woman raped by live-in partner

A 27–year-old woman was allegedly raped by her estranged live-in partner, police said on Wednesday. According to the complainant, the accused forced the woman to consume alcohol and raped her inside her house. The victim’s mother tried to nab the accused by locking him inside one of the rooms but the accused managed to run away.

The victim hails from Alwar in Rajasthan and currently lives with her mother in a farmhouse near BSF camp in Bhondsi. The victim, who is a tailor by profession, was in a live-in relationship with the accused Raj Kumar (35) for the past few years and the couple also has a one-and-a-half-year-old son. But their relationship soured a few months ago, and they were living separately since then.

The incident took place when the victim’s mother on Monday night had gone out to the market. Raj Kumar, the accused came to her house at around 10.20 pm and asked her to get into the room with her. When they went to the room, he forced her to consume alcohol. Thereafter, he raped her.

“The woman tried to raise alarm many times during the assault, and her mother also heard her cries for help when she returned home. The mother asked them to open the door and then pulled her daughter out and locked the accused in the room,” said ACP Hawa Singh. The mother of the victim then informed the police, but by then the accused had managed to run away from the other door. 
The victim told cops that Raj Kumar has threatened to kill her many times.

Following this, a case has been registered at Bhondsi police station under Section 376 (rape), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
