25-year-old woman gang-raped inside moving van, one held

According to the police, the woman was going for an interview. While she was waiting for a bus she was dragged inside the car by the two men, apparently known to her, said senior police officers of the North-west district. Meanwhile, police arrested one of the accused, Neeraj (22) on late Tuesday night.

Police said as per the complainant’s version, on May 17 at around 10 am, the woman, a resident of Mangolpuri in Outer Delhi, was waiting for a bus when the duo, Neeraj and Dev, forcibly dragged her inside the Maruti van. As per the complainant, she knew the accused as they were friends of one of her friends.

 After forcefully dragging her inside the car, they sexually assaulted her and dropped her near her house at around 6 pm. Police further said that as per her version, she somehow managed to reach Sanjay Gandhi Memorial hospital in Mangolpuri. The hospital authorities, in turn, informed the local police after which investigation was taken up.

“Based on the statements of the woman, a case has been registered at the Maurya Enclave police station under Sections 365 (Kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) and 376 (rape) and investigation has been initiated,” said a senior police officer.

Meanwhile, in a late night search operation, police arrested one of the accused, Neeraj,an engineering graduate while the other accused, Dev (22) is still on the run. Further investigation is underway.
