25-year-old alleges gang rape by brother-in-law, friends

A 25-year-old woman was gang raped by five men, including her brother-in-law and kept locked for two days in a room. No arrest has been made so far. The incident happened at Shalimar Bagh in north Delhi.

According to the police, the woman in a complaint filed on Tuesday, told the police that her brother-in-law and his friends raped her and kept her locked in a room for a two days, before dumping her near Japani Park, a few kilometers away from her house located in Sector 15 in Rohini.

'On May 19 afternoon, the victim’s brother-in-law called her to his jewellery shop to discuss something. When she reached the shop, his four friends were already present there. They offered her a drink, allegedly laced with sedatives, and then took turns to rape her. They then dumped her in a room in the shop,' said a police official.

When she regained consciousness after two days, she approached the police. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where a medical test confirmed rape. She is currently undergoing treatment.

'A case has been registered and the allegations are being verified,' said an officer. 'The accused are being traced and the matter is being probed,' he added.
