It was a deadly Tuesday when 24 persons, including 18 members of a marriage party, lost their lives in three separate accidents in Kannauj, Pilibhit and Mathura districts of Uttar Pradesh. At least 11 people, all of them ‘ baratis’ were killed and 25 injured when their mini-bus collided head on with a state Roadways bus near Jalalpur Pandwa under Kotwali police station in Kannauj on Tuesday, Police control room at the headquarters here said. In another accident at Mathura, six people were killed when their car collided with a truck in Kosikala area of the district late last night. In another incident seven Baratis were killed and 35 injured when their bus overturned and fell into Khannaut river on Bilsanda-Bandabasat road in Pilibhit district late on Monday night.
