According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Masonda Ketada Olivier. One of the three accused, identified as Mobin Azad Saifi (23), has been arrested. The other two have also been identified.

Senior police officers of the South district alleged that Olivier was waiting for an auto-rickshaw to go to his rented accommodation in South Extension when the three accused came and started arguing over who will finally board the auto-rickshaw.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 11:45 pm near CNG petrol pump in Kishangarh when Olivier was waiting for an auto-rickshaw. Locals, who were present at the spot, told police that since it was late night, not many auto-rickshaws were passing through the area.

While Olivier was about to board the auto-rickshaw, the three accused — Mobin Azad Saifi, Mukesh and Prakash — too came forward and started arguing that they want to take the same auto-rickshaw.
Eyewitnesses further told police that the argument between Olivier and the three accused escalated into a scuffle where in the trio chased Olivier for 20-25 metres and hit Olivier’s head repeatedly with stones. When the locals tried to get hold of the accused, they fled the spot, said police.

In the meantime, one of the locals made a PCR call. Bleeding profusely, Olivier was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Center by the cops where he was declared brought dead.“A case of murder has been registered at the Vasant Kunj police station. Probe is on,” said Nupur Prasad, Additional DCP.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Olivier was attacked after an argument over boarding an auto-rickshaw.

But police have not ruled out the possibility of robbery since Olivier’s friends said that his mobile phone was not with him.Meanwhile, the Embassy of Congo has been informed about the incident.
Olivia taught foreign language at a private institute. He lived in South Extension area as a tenant. Police are also investigating the reason why Olivier went to Kishangadh at that hour.
