A 22-year-old call centre employee was crushed to death by a speeding water tanker at MG Road in the early hours of Monday. The errant driver, identified as Bhagwan Singh, has been arrested.
According to police, the accident took place at around 6.30 am when Deepak, the victim was going to his office in Gurgaon. He was a resident of Dakshinpuri and used to commute to his office by scooty. He was working with a call centre from last few months.
At the time of the incident, he had parked his scooty at the roadside to take a phone call. In the meantime, a speeding water tanker lost its balance and rammed into the divider. The tanker turned turtle and crushed him. Soon after the incident, the driver managed to flee the spot. However, with the help of the registration number of the vehicle he was identified and later arrested under the charges of negligence driving causing death.
Deepak was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. His family members were informed
about the incident and the body was handed over to them after post-mortem.
