A 21-year-old woman was killed whereas her 50-year-old mother was severely injured by unidentified assailants at their residence in outer Delhi’s Narela area on Sunday morning. In the prima facie it appears as a case of robbery followed by murder.
Shockingly, both the women were found in a partially disrobed condition that points towards the possibility of sexual assault. So far, cops have not ruled out the sexual assault probability. One of the victims, who is battling for her life at the hospital, is neither fit to record her statement nor to undergo any examination to confirm assault.
The deceased has been identified as Sonia, who came to her mother – Santata’s residence three days ago.
According to the police, Sonia’s teenaged brother spotted the body at around 5 am when he returned home in the morning.
He immediately called the police who rushed the duo to the nearby hospital where Sonia was declared dead on arrival while Santara is undergoing treatment.
The autopsy reports of Sonia is awaited that will confirm possibility of sexual assault.
A case has been registered at Narela police station and a man-hunt is on to establish identity of the accused, a police official said.
