A 21-year-old employee of an online shopping portal alleged on Sunday that she has been raped by her colleague at Country Club resort in Manesar.
The accused has been detained and the reports of the medical examination of the 21-year-old victim are awaited.
The incident took place late on Saturday night when the staff of the company that is located in east Delhi’s Shakarpur area had gathered for a week-long programme at Country Club in Manesar, Gurgaon. The staff reached the resort on Saturday morning and in the evening the office management organised party.
On Sunday at around 6 pm, one of the employee’s approached the police and registered a complaint against Sumit (25), an executive in the company, alleging that the latter has raped her after taking a friendly entry in her hotel room where she was staying alone after the party. On the basis of her complaint, Sumit has been detained.
The girl has been taken to the civil hospital to verify her allegations. Depending on the medical reports, the detained accused can be arrested.
A case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered in Manesar police station in Gurgaon. ‘The management of the resort has been asked to hand over the CCTV recording of Saturday. Other employees of the company are being questioned,’ the investigating officer said.
