21-year-old girl alleges rape by landlord, accused held

The girl also alleged that she was forced into prostitution by the landlord in south Delhi’s Vasant Vihar area, police said on Sunday.

The accused, identified as Vinod Kumar, a property dealer, has been arrested by the police after the girl lodged a complaint against him. The girl was sent for medical examination which confirmed rape.
The girl, who belongs from Mathura, came to  Delhi four years ago in search of job. One of her friends introduced her to Kumar, who gave her his apartment on rent.

Since then she has been living in Kumar’s home in Munirka. According to the girl, three years ago, Kumar offered her a drink laced with sedative and allegedly raped her. When she came to know about the act, she threatened to file a complaint against him.

Kumar convinced her on the pretext that he would marry her. Since then, he had been involved in physical relationship with her.

She also alleged that the accused had recorded made her video clips and threatened to upload them on internet if she revealed the matter to police. The girl further alleged that Kumar forced her into prostitution one year ago in order to earn money.

According to the girl, she was held hostage by Kumar for a long time now. She somehow managed to inform her friend, who had introduced her to Kumar. He made a plan to rescue her and asked one of his friends to act as a fake customer for the woman. The fake customer gave Rs 5,000 to Kumar and went inside the room where the girl was present. Kumar then locked the door from outside and
went away. Meanwhile, the girl made a call to her friend from the customer’s phone who rescued her.

Later, all three of them reached Vasant Vihar police station and narrated the the incident to the police.
