20 killed, 15 hurt in bus-truck crash in Maha

About 20 people were killed and 15 others were injured when a packed state transport bus collided with a truck-trolley in Jalgaon district of the west Indian state of Maharashtra on Thursday, police said.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus was on its way to Surat from Chalisgaon when it crashed into the container coming from the opposite direction, said the Special IG Control Room based in Nashik.

 About 20 people, including the truck driver, were killed and 15 others were injured in the accident that took place at around 2.30pm on Dhule-Chalisgaon Highway, about 140 km from here in North Maharashtra, it said. The injured, some in serious condition, were admitted to hospitals in Dhule and Chalisgaon, the Control Room said.
