2 lakh applications for 54k seats in DU

The online admission process for undergraduate courses in Delhi University saw nearly 2 lakh candidates registering for admissions in 54,000 seats in the university.

On June 2, the Day VI of online admissions in the University, as many as 1,81,093 candidates have registered themselves for 52 courses by 5 pm.

“Out of the total number of candidates registered for admissions, 98,617 candidates have already paid the fee through online mode of payment,” said Malay Neerav, Joint Dean, Student’s Welfare, Delhi University.

According to the University officials, the total number of general category candidates is 65,805, the number of Other Backward Castes (OBC) candidates are 21,181 while the number of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) <g data-gr-id="39">are</g> 9,574.

The total number of candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST) is 1,859 and the candidates from Persons with Disabilities (PWD) category <g data-gr-id="28">was</g> calculated at 209 as on Tuesday.

The online admission procedure will continue till June 15 while the offline procedure to procure forms from the designated University centres will begin from June 5. 

The last date for application in Delhi University for all undergraduate courses is June 15, both for offline and online modes of admissions. A common cut off list for all streams will be announced on June 25.
