Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti, Wardha is organising two-day Amrit Mahotsava in Delhi. The convenor of the event Narayan Kumar said the Amrit Mahotsava will be inaugurated by Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde at 10 am on 16 March.
Over 17 scholars of various Indian languages and two translators who have translated major works from regional languages to Hindi, will be felicitated. ‘I request the scholars of the city to cooperate to make the event a success,’ said Kumar, convenor of Greater Delhi State Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti and Manimala, director of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti.
The leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, will address the gathering on 17 March. Eminent Gandhian thinker, Justice Chandrashekhar Darmadhikari, will preside on both days. Vishwa Nath Prasad Tiwari, president of Sahitya Akadami will be the special guest of the event. Eminent scholars like T N Chaturvedi, Pratibha Rai, Vimleshkanti Verma, Jabir Hussain, Shesha Ratnam, Manimala, Prabhakar Shrotriya, Rahul Dev, Lalitamba, Harish Trivedi, Shishi Shekhar and Madan Lal Madhu will participate in the event.
Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti was established in 1936 by Mahatma Gandhi. The organisation has benefitted over 1.6 crore students through its various training programmes.
