In yet another incident, a 19-year-old boy committed suicide by jumping before a Metro train in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar Metro Station, on Sunday afternoon. He succumbed to his injuries later in the evening.
The victim has been identified as Hemant, a resident of Sangam Vihar. He was unemployed for a long time.
According to police, Hemant was mentally disturbed over <g data-gr-id="29">family</g> feud, which prompted him to commit suicide. “He was also suffering from depression and was undergoing treatment too,” the police official said.
Hemant bought a token to Rajiv Chowk from Malviya Nagar and entered the platform. Few seconds before the train arrived on the track, he jumped <g data-gr-id="26">infront</g> of it. The metro driver applied brakes but before the train could stop, he was hit severely.
Somehow, he was rescued from there and was immediately rushed to the nearby private hospital where he succumbed during the treatment.
“With the help of the documents he was carrying with him, his identity was established and his family members were informed about the incident. His father and brother reached the hospital and told police that Hemant was suffering from depression. No suicide note was recovered from his possession,” the official added.
