A teenage boy was shot dead while two of his friends were beaten up by unidentified assailants in east Delhi’s Seelampur area, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday night when the victim, Zishan (18), was returning home along with his friends Raju and Ramiz after a party.
The three were allegedly intercepted by five men near a gurudwara in the G Block area around 9.30 pm.
‘The assailants abused Zishan and an argument ensued, which soon turned ugly and one of the attackers whipped out a pistol and shot Zishan in the abdomen. They also thrashed Raju and Ramiz and fled the spot,’ said a police official.
A passerby made a PCR call after which police reached the spot and rushed the victims to hospital. Zishan was declared ‘brought dead’ while his friends were discharged after preliminary treatment. Police questioned them to identify the assailants.
Zishan’s family members and other friends were also questioned to ascertain who could be behind the murder, police said.
