A 17-year-old was beaten up and stabbed to death by four of his friends in East Delhi’s Kalyanpuri area on late Wednesday night. The accused have been identified but are yet to be arrested.
The deceased has been identified as Sagar, a resident of Block 19 in Kalyanpuri. He lived with his parents and three sisters. According to the police, the incident took place at around 11 pm on Wednesday when Sagar was at home. “One of his friends, identified as Amit came over to his house and asked him to come outside,” a police official said.
“Sagar dressed up and went out with him. Three of Amit’s friends who were also known to Sagar were standing at the end of the street. Sagar and Amit joined them and had a conversation that later turned into an altercation. Amit, along with three of his friends, started beating him up and later one of them took out a knife and stabbed him more than five times,” the official said, quoting an eye-witness.
All of them fled from the spot leaving him in a pool of blood. Locals who witnessed the incident made a call to the Police Control Room and the PCR van that reached the spot immediately rushed him to the nearby Lal Bahadur <g data-gr-id="43">Shashtri</g> hospital. The staff declared him brought dead and his body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
The family of the deceased claimed that the incident was a <g data-gr-id="35">fall-out</g> of personal enmity. “We are probing the case in all plausible angles including sudden provocation leading to murder. We are not ruling out personal enmity also behind the attack. We have identified all the accused who are on the run. Raids are being conducted to nab them,” a senior police official said.
A case under Section 302 (murder), 34 (acts done by several persons with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused at Kalyanpuri police station. Further investigation is underway, the police official added.
