An eight-year-old boy was reportedly throttled to death by their tenant’s 16-year-old son on Thursday. The victim’s body was later found at a park near Govindpuri in Sangam Vihar on Friday morning. The accused has been detained and is being quizzed.

The victim has been identified as Vansh who was a resident of G-Block, Gandhinagar, in Sangam Vihar area. He used to live with his parents. His father, Suresh, is a contractual electrician.

The incident came to light when the child did not return home on Thursday evening. The family members got worried and started searching on their own.

Meanwhile, they made a missing complaint too at the Sangam Vihar police station. While the search was being made by his family, the accused was accompanying them and later he himself led the police to the spot where he strangulated the minor.

According to a neighbour, the minor was last seen with Suresh’s tenant’s 16-year-old son. This led the family of the victim to file a kidnapping complaint against the juvenile.

According to a police official, the juvenile misguided the victim’s family by taking them to the wrong locations. The kidnapping complaint was filed at 10 pm upon which the police officials apprehended the accused.

During a sustained police interrogation, the accused finally broke down and admitted to killing the minor. He later took the police to the spot where he killed the boy. The body of the victim was recovered at 3.30 am at a nearby park.

The minor, identified as Vansh, was strangulated to death by the accused. After committing the crime, the juvenile fled the spot and went to his house.
