A 16-year-old boy went missing on the evening of March 7, from East Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar area. The boy, identified as Piyush Mishra, left for tuitions around 6.45 pm and never returned home.

He was currently appearing for the CBSE class 10 board exams. During investigation, it emerged that the boy had performed poorly in the first exam paper and his preparation for the second paper was also not well enough. This is suspected to have prompted him to leave home, said a police official.

CCTV footages were monitored and Piyush was last seen at the New Ashok Nagar metro station. It was his father, Vibhakar Mishra, employee at a private firm, who filed his son’s missing complaint, the official added.
