14 hospitalised after gas leak at Gujarat plant

At least 11 people were on Tuesday injured due to gas leakage in Shivam Petrocamp Private Limited, a private chemical company at Gothada village in Savli tehshel in Vadodara district, police said. SP Baroda Rural, Sandeep Singh, speaking to Millennium Post, said the incident happened in the day time and 11 people have been hospitalised.

According to the police officer, all of them were taken to the Jan Motri Hospital in Savali. After they were given first-aid there, they were shifted to a private hospital at Chhani village on the outskirts of Vadodara city. Two of the 11 affected people were discharged, while 9 others were undergoing treatment, another police officer stationed there told our correspondent. 

Reasons for the gas leak are yet to be ascertained, the officer said, adding a probe is on.
