According to police officers, the incident happened when the boy was making a cup of coffee for himself. The machine exploded and both his arms got detached from his body.
Soon after the explosion, he was rushed to the nearby GTB Hospital from where he was referred to Safdarjung Hospital. The doctors at Safdarjung Hospital in turn referred him to Max Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Harsh who came to Delhi to attend his uncle’s marriage. Harsh reached the marriage destination in the evening and while having snacks he tried to make coffee for himself. The moment he kept his coffee mug under the steaming pipe, the machine exploded.
A case of negligence causing death has been registered against the manufacture of the coffee machine.
