1 die, 40 hurt in Nigeria Explosion

At least one person was killed and 40 others injured when a huge explosion tore through a warehouse full of fireworks in Nigeria’s commercial capital of Lagos on Wednesday. The explosion at 9 am (local time) caused a fire outbreak which consumed not less than 10 houses in densely populated Jankara area of Lagos Island, which has commercial and residential houses located close to each other. “So far one human-body that was burnt beyond recognition had been recovered from the rubble of exploded area. The recovery was made when search and rescue officers were working at the scene,” the National Emergency Management Agency spokesperson Yushua Shuaib said.
