The monumental tragedy that occurred at Posta on Thursday cut short a promising young life of Nirmal Kumar, an employee of a private company who was returning home in a taxi from Howrah when the Vivekananda Road flyover collapsed.

Kumar was one of the victims whose dead body was recovered on Friday. Kumar who was originally from Uttar Pradesh went to his parental house few days ago to have a final talk to his parents regarding his marriage.

After settling the marriage related issues, Nirmal was returning home in train. The victim who used to stay in Salt Lake caught a taxi from the Howrah station He also called up his sister-in-law and told her that he would go to the office after having lunch. But hours passed by the Nirmal did not return home.

His family members tried to get him on his mobile phone but his phone went unanswered. As the report of the accident flashed on the television the relatives were puzzled as where they should contact Nirmal. Nirmal’s elder brother Niraj Kumar went to the accident site as he could not get his brother on phone.

But he was not allowed to enter into the area as the rescue operations were going on.  He did not have any clue whether his younger brother was caught under the debris or everything was fine.
