Woman found dead under mysterious circumstances

A 22-year-old interior decorator was found dead in mysterious circumstances in her house in Shakarpur, east Delhi, police said on Monday. The incident was reported at around 5.30 am on Monday. ‘Payal Durga, who lived with her husband and parents-in-law at Bank Enclave in Shakarpur, east Delhi, was found dead,’ a police officer said. Police said the woman’s husband, who runs a furniture business, informed her father that she had committed suicide by hanging. No suicide note was recovered from the site, a police officer said, adding that Payal’s parents said that her parents-in-law had made exorbitant dowry demands. Payal and Gaurav were married in February this year. A case has been registered by Shakarpur police, and a magisterial inquiry has been ordered.
