Wild elephants overrun Bengal village, 1 killed

A herd of wild elephants overran a village in West Bengal’s Burdwan district, killing one man and injuring two others including his wife, villagers said on Friday.

“The elephants entered Galsi and started foraging for food. In the process, one of the jumbos ended up killing one man who was sleeping in the compound outside his house. Two others were injured in the rampage,” a villager told a local television channel.
