Henry Cavill, the new on screen Superman, had auditioned to play secret agent 007, but says Daniel Craig was a far better choice.
The Man of Steel actor was upset at missing out on the part after getting down to the final audition, but admits 45-year-old Craig, who has portrayed the iconic charter in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall, has been ‘fantastic’ in the role.
‘When I wasn't selected for Bond, I was very disappointed,’ contactmusic.com quoted Cavill. ‘I'd turned down a leading role in 300 because it was down to Daniel Craig and me, and auditioning for Bond took all my focus,’ he said.Â
