The American dancer Lauren Gottlieb, who is making a foray into the Punjabi film industry with movie Ambarsariya, is happy the way her career is shaping up.
From a contestant of a show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ and being its judge was a biggest achievement for her. She feels it was destined for her to be there and conquer people’s heart with her moves.
Lauren, who was in the city to promote her film along with her co stars said, “I am playing a Canadian Punjabi photographer in the film and i am in love with the character as it suited my personality. While I was shooting in Punjab, I came to know about Punjabi culture, food and its people which I was unaware off.”
On being asked what made her shift to India as she was already had a career in dancing and acting in Hollywood, Lauren shared, “Back home I was working with Rihanna, Tom Cruise, Beyonce in films and television and giving dance lessons to actors like Toby Maguire when one day I went to audition for the film franchise of Step Up but I did not make it. That very morning, I received an email from Remo D’Souza, Prabhudeva and UTV, about whom I had no idea in the beginning. I googled about them and decided to give it a shot and here I am today.”
