Vishwas calls for SC’s urgent intervention in vyapam case

Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and founder member Kumar Vishwas on Monday moved a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on Vyapam scam, seeking the Apex Court’s urgent intervention in the case.

Vishwas also sought that the investigation be carried out under the Supreme Court’s supervision. "The nation is in shock, after learning the developments in the Vyapam scam. The conditions have forced me to move a PIL with the Supreme Court, requesting for a probe into the scam immediately. Although the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Madhya Pradesh government has been investigating the case, there have already been 45 deaths so far," Vishwas said, after filing the PIL.

The PIL stated that more than 40 people connected to the scam have died under mysterious circumstances since 2013. The AAP leader attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being silent on the deaths.

"We have requested Supreme Court to take cognizance of the issue and help save the lives of any many more scam related people whose lives are in danger. It is aptly clear that the syndicate involved in the racket are powerful and it consists of politicians, officials and businessmen," Vishwas said.
