US, Japan sales lift Lupin Q2 profit by 55%

Drug major Lupin on Tuesday posted 55.11 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 630.04 crore for the second quarter ended 30 September, driven by robust sales in the US, Japan and domestic market.

The Mumbai-based company had posted a net profit of Rs 406.18 crore during the same period of previous fiscal. Net sales of the company rose to Rs 3,116.81 crore for the second quarter, as against Rs 2,631.46 crore during the same period of previous fiscal, the company said. For the half year ended 30 September, the company posted a net profit of Rs 1,254.78 crore, against Rs 807.24 crore in the year ago period, up by 55.44 per cent.
