Another young Indian talent has managed to make it into the Spanish League, La Liga after Ishan Pandita having recently signed for Leganes.
Ashique Kuruniyan, a Kerala resident, has signed for a 2.5 month loan spell with a La Liga club Villareal CF, who play in the first division of La Liga. Villareal are currently at the fourth spot in the league.
Kuruniyan is a part of this season’s Indian Super League side, FC Pune City, who are currently on the seventh spot in the league table, but hasn’t found game time yet.
He is highly rated creative midfielder who is also capable of filling in the striker spot.
Kuruniyan had a brilliant season with Pune FC in U-19 I-League 2014-15 when the club finished runners-up. Following his impressive stint for Pune FC, Ashique got the national goal and featured for India U-19 side.
