Sufi sojourn

The third edition of Sufiyana Rang took the Capital stage yesterday. Nizami Bandhu from India and Sufi Brothers from Pakistan mesmerised the audience that jam packed the Kamani Auditorium at Mandi House.

It was the first time in history that Nizami Bandhu (Chand Nizami, Shadab Nizami and Sohrab Nizami) from India and Sufi Brothers (Armaan and Imran Ali) from Pakistan had shared the same stage.
The Nizami Bandhu and Sufi Brothers are famous for their performances of Qawwali that captures the beautiful traditions of Sufism of the Indian subcontinent. The event was organised by Ali Zaidi and Akshay Kr Singh. The evening ended on a high note with an electrifying Jugalbandi of Nizami Bandhu and Sufi Brothers that left the audience asking for more.

In the words of Chand Nizami, “Music is not limited to the borders; today we shared the stage with our own brothers. It was a pleasant experience for us. Sufi music has the divine connection with almighty so in the form of Qawwali we just prayer for the peaceful environment in both the countries. Music is the only way to vanish the hatred.”
