Stephen’s announces first list of candidates for test

After releasing its first cut-off on Saturday, the St Stephen’s College has announced the list of candidates called for the interview-cum-aptitude test on Monday. The college has announced the names of the selected candidates for the interview-cum-aptitude test for the admission in four courses — Sanskrit, English, Economics and Physics.

“The admission process has been started and the college has announced names of the candidates those selected for the interview-cum-aptitude test,” John Varghese, the Principal of St Stephen’s said.

Delhi University’s prestigious St Stephen’s College on Saturday announced the first cut-off list for the 2016-17 academic session with the highest requirement being for English honours at 99 per cent even as the institution saw a dip in the number of applications this year. The college had last year received a record 32,100 applications but this year only 23,500 applications have been received for the 400 seats.

However, the cut-off for admission to the college remained almost similar to that of the previous year. Stephen’s being a minority institution follows a schedule and procedure for admission which is different from other Delhi University colleges. But for the first time, the college was asked to join the centralised registration process and hence for applying to St Stephen’s a candidate had to register through DU’s admission portal.
