Zimbabwe level series; thrash Afghan by 7 wickets in 4th ODI

Zimbabwe thrashed Afghanistan by 7 wickets (D/L method) to level the five-match ODI series on Friday.

Nothing clicked for Afghanistan apart from winning the toss. Opting to bat, their batsmen again fell flat against a disciplined bowling line-up.

Folding for 111 in 38.5 overs, Afghanistan bowlers could not trigger a collapse as Zimbabwe marched towards the total by losing only 3 wickets. They were to chase 105 owing to D/L method and completed the task with ease. The match was reduced to 42 overs due to rain for playing spoilsports for a brief period but could not curb Zimbabwe's dominance. The series decider, which will again be held at Harare Sports Club, Harare on Sunday, promises to be a cracking contest.

A nail-biting win followed by a comprehensive victory surely puts Zimbabwe in the driver's seat ahead of the finale. They will be determined to win their first home series against Afghanistan on Sunday. Till now, one series ended in a tie whereas the other two went in Afghanistan's grasp.
