Sonia Gandhi to address political rally in Malda

Though she has not supported the alliance openly but Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi will come to address a political rally on April 7.

She will address a rally at Sujapur in Malda. Rahul Gandhi is expected to come to West Bengal on April 17 and will address a couple of meetings. 

He is expected to participate in a road show. State Congress leaders said the itinerary of Rahul Gandhi is not yet finalised but he has agreed to come to West Bengal.

“We have sent a list of 40 star campaigners whom we want to campaign for the Congress candidates in Bengal. 

“Our campaign committee will take a final call, but we are optimistic that Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh will surely address election rallies in the state,” state Congress president Adhir Chowdhury had said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come and address a rally at Kharagpur on Sunday. BJP state president Dilip Ghosh is contesting from Kharagpur. 

Political experts said that Ghosh has a fair chance of winning the election. Modi was expected to address a rally in Bhowanipore where Chandra Bose is contesting against Mamata Banerjee.  Congress candidate from this seat is Deepa Dasmunshi.
