Snowfall predicted in higher areas of U’Khand

The state capital and its adjoining areas received moderate rainfall on Sunday resulting in the extension of the winter season. Many flights were cancelled from the Jolly Grant domestic airport due to inclement weather during day time. However, by evening, just two hours before the sunset the weather cleared partially.

There will be no respite for Uttarakhand people for the next 48 hours as the local MeT department has predicted snowfall in the higher altitude areas above 2500 metres. The Pithoragarh district in Kumaon and Chamoli and Uttarkashi districts in the Garhwal region can witness snowfall in the next two days. The areas on the plains can receive moderate rainfall in the next two days.
