SJVN powers profit to `1408 crore in FY16

With a total power generation of 9346.128 million units from all its three operational power stations, SJVN Limited continues its excellent performance during the financial year 2015-16, informed R N Misra, Chairman & Managing Director, addressing the 28th Annual General Meeting of the company held at Shimla on Thursday. 

The country’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, the 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station and the 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power station together had generated 9346.128 MU of Power against the MoU target of 8520 MU and previous year’s generation of 8136.133 million units, he told. 

During FY 2015-16, rev?enue from operations stood at Rs.2498.49 crore and Profit after Tax at Rs.1408.48 crore, he told. During the year an interim dividend of Rs.0.63 per share had already been paid while an additional dividend of Rs. 0.47 per share had been approved by the Board of Director. 

Thus, a total dividend of Rs.1.10 per share (Rs.455.03 crore) was proposed to be paid for FY 2015-16 against Rs.1.05 per share (Rs. 434.35 crore) paid during the previous year, he informed. 

Continuing its excellent performance, the company’s 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Power Station recorded the second highest generation in a year at 7314 MU since commissioning of the plant in 2004. The highest ever day generation of 39.363 MUs in a single day was also 

achieved.
