Shekhar Ravjiani rejected plum offers before Neerja

Ace musician Shekhar Ravjiani has revealed that he rejected some plum acting offers before zeroing-in on Sonam Kapoor-starrer Neerja to make his acting debut, as he was not excited about them. Shekhar, who has given several hit tracks, is turning actor with the real-life inspired story. “Before Neerja happened, I was offered at least eight to ten films which came from top directors and producers. Mostly they were lead roles. I liked some offers, but the projects did not kickstart while some offers did not excite me,” said Shekhar.

The Tujhe Bhula Diya singer insists he had no plans about acting in films. “I had no plans to be an actor. After I started appearing on reality shows, people felt I had the potential as an actor. When the acting offers came I did not jump at it,” he said. It was the idea of Neerja director Ram Madhvani, who is Shekhar’s good friend, to cast the musician in the film.
