Shaping young minds

National Institute of Fine Art hosts the annual art exhibition Antar Darshan by its students that commences on May 22 at its premises. The five-day art extravaganza provides the students an opportunity to exhibit their <g data-gr-id="41">multi dimensional</g> and original <g data-gr-id="42">art works</g>.
Renu Khera, the curator of the show, presents the best 25 students work in a year’s time. The artists have created three original <g data-gr-id="38">art work</g> in different mediums like oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, charcoal and dry pastels.
50 <g data-gr-id="39">per cent</g> of the amount raised by selling the paintings will be donated to the Prime Minister Relief Fund in support of Nepal.
The show also displays works by some special students and underprivileged kids who have toiled their heart and soul to show their potential. Every student has his own thoughts for his <g data-gr-id="43">art work</g>. The show will enable the visitors to interact with artists and experts.
Some of the participating <g data-gr-id="51">artistes</g> are - Shalini, <g data-gr-id="50">Mohita</g> Suri, Pallavi Juyal, Vishal Dharmani and Rajat Mathur.
In the words of Shalini, “Through this painting of mine, I want to show myself in the form of <g data-gr-id="59">yog</g> mudra which describes a state in which even when we lose our near and dear ones we can keep them alive in ourselves. A state in which we feel real happiness and peace of life through meditation.”
<g data-gr-id="58"><g data-gr-id="60">Innocence</g></g> of a boy <g data-gr-id="61">catched</g> Mohit’s attention which he showed in his piece of work. He says, “Innocent face with lots of questions in his eyes attracts me. This shows we all should preserve our innocence in order to turn this world to become a more humane world to live.”
The concept of <g data-gr-id="62">Juyal’s</g> work is ‘dreams’. She comments, “I chose it because it is a wish of every human being to live life like a dream. But it is imperative to see the life as a wholesome game where there is hard work, ups and downs, despair n happiness. Life is the canvas of happening of things. If we are ready to enjoy every moment, life is really a dream.”
Dharmani who is a software engineer by profession can’t resist himself with pencils, colours and paintings. He said, “I am discovering an artist within me by transforming my scratchy strokes into perfect lines and dull colours to vibrant ones.”
Rajat Mathur, a graphic Designer by profession is always fascinated by art. The name of the painting is Colours of Joy, It is the portrait of his friend clicked by him at the time of Holi. This reflects the colours of joy a person experience in this festival regardless of cast and creed.
