Shahid resumes Rangoon shooting post injury

Shahid Kapoor has begun filming for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon again after getting hurt on the sets of the movie.

The Shandaar star, who is sharing screen space for the first time with Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut in the period drama, injured himself last week during an action sequence in Ludhiana.

“Morning all. #rangoon on set,” he wrote along with a picture of his stubble look from the film.

In Rangoon, the 34-year-old actor plays a soldier and the love story set against the backdrop of the World War II.

The movie is Shahid’s third on-screen outing with Vishal after 2009’s Kaminey and last year’s Haider, both of which are considered the actor’s career-defining movies. Bhardwaj informed the tabloid Mumbai Mirror, “The actor was hurt in the chest and rushed to the hospital. X-rays revealed a slight inflammation and he has been advised rest. But he’s an energetic fighter and will be up and running soon.”

As for Shahid, the actor has hurt his finger and is down with fever after he had to stand in the rain for more than six hours during the shooting of Rangoon.

Bhardwaj said, “We were hoping he’d be back today (January 15) but I’ve just got a call from his doctor informing me that his temperature is still high and he won’t be able to resume work.”
