SDMC organises workshop to push for cashless transactions

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Wednesday took a lead in involving students of its primary schools and their parents in disseminating the need of cashless transactions by organising a workshop for more than 2,500 teachers in two separate sittings at the Civic Centre wherein a number of audio-visuals prepared by the Niti Aayog were screened.

The Corporation said that involving  teachers will allow them to function as the ambassadors of social change which will go a long way in popularising the new methods of transactions. It also expressed hope that the fight against black money will result in hefty decrease in the income tax rates.

In a workshop the teachers were ensured that cashless transactions are safe and were also educated about the use of five means like debit/credit/prepaid cards, UPI, USSB- Micro ATM Machines, aadhaar enabled payment systems and electronic wallet for cashless transactions keeping in mind that teachers can convey the importance of cashless transactions in a forceful manner to the students and their parents by interacting at regular intervals.
