Re-polling in 11 booths in Bengal peaceful

Repolling was held in 9 booths in Salt Lake and 2 booths in Asansol on Friday amidst heavy security. Counting for all three Assembly seats will take place on Saturday. Re-polling was by and large peaceful in all the booths.

The interim state election Commissioner Alapan Bandopadhyay had announced re-polling on Thursday and counting on Saturday in a media encounter on Wednesday after he took charge. There were allegations of rigging and intimidating voters levelled by Opposition parties for the polls held last Saturday.
