Rakesh Maria submits report to Maha govt
Mumbai police commissioner Rakesh Maria on Tuesday has submitted a detailed report to the Maharashtra government over his meeting with former IPL Chairman Lalit Modi in London in 2014.
On Sunday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had sought clarification from Maria over the same. In a statement issued by Commissioner’s office, Maria had said that he was approached by an advocate representing Lalit Modi who stated that the former IPL boss wanted to meet him. “Lalit Modi repeatedly kept requesting for Mumbai Police’s intervention against the underworld,” his statement reads. Speaking to the media persons, state Additional Chief Secretary (Home) KP Bakshi said, “Maria has not tendered his resignation. This is a sensitive issue and I am studying his report.”
