Raj Jaat yatra related to our prestige: CM Rawat

A road map was prepared to the most-sought and most-awaited pilgrimage journey by the villagers of Garhwal mandal and Kumaon mandal, which is said to be thousands of years old. ‘This pilgrimage is directly related to our prestige, and state government is fully prepared to ensure the success of this yatra. No leniency will be tolerated from any level,’ CM Rawat said.

He said that medical-test facility will be set-up at Nandkesari, Wan and Bedini, which lies at eigth, tenth and twelth halts of pilgrimage route. He also ensured that all the required medical-kit, tents and electric instruments will reach Wan by 10 August. Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in this yatra.

The India Meterological Department (IMD) has already predicted in their report that there will be no dry phase in the higher Himalayan mountain regions till the end of this month. Last night heavy rainfall in Chamoli district and consequently rising level of Alaknanda river has intensified the fear of state govt.
