Railways to get more than 400 crore from RLDA

Having got the go ahead from the Cabinet with leasing land, the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has been given the responsibility of developing Multi Functional Complexes (MFCs) that will provide multiple facilities like shopping, food stalls/ restaurants, book stalls, PCO Booths, ATMs, medicines and variety stores, budget hotels, parking spaces and other similar amenities to rail users at railway stations.

RLDA has now targeted for earning more than Rs. 400 crore during current financial year. MFCs for providing amenities to rail users to be developed in towns/cities of tourist and religious interest including at Dehradun, Ujjain, Ludhiana, Kurla Terminus etc.
